Hello Everyone!

I would like to ask everyone what should be in your basic makeup kit. I've started to build up my wardrobe with some pretty skirts and nice tops, but I'm totally out to sea when it comes to figuring out which makeup to buy. And of course, being a super budget conscious girl (*I'm going to University and therefore have practically no money), I wonder which things to buy first.

What was the first thing you bought? Did you wish you had gotten something else first? And since some of you seem to have been applying makeup for awhile, what do you know now that you wished you knew when you were starting out? Any info. at this point would be super, as I am dying to try out some makeup, but I am also a little intimidated by all of it too.

Thanks so much.

I started out with just lipstick, eye shadow. foundation and blusher. You can get makeup kits in shops or on the net that have the main things in and they don't cost that much. I stilll use cheap makeup today

Who said you can tell?

Oh when you do start to get lots of makeup get a good set of makeup brushes and use them for everything. Trust me

Good foundation has to be the most important thing in my makeup bag.
A lot of cheaper makeup is good but you can tell the difference in quality stuff and cheap stuff.
If your not going out dressed don't be spending a lot on makeup as nobody will see it.

Hi Jessica

I agree with Maddie, if you plan on going out get the good stuff, otherwise go to Walgreens. They always have good sales on everything, you really can't go wrong.

I do go out, so I spend a bit more on my make-up. I get most of my stuff at ULTA, and I like bare eccentials, it's easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and covers well for me.

Anyway, have fun experimenting with it, and remember, it takes a while, but practice makes perfect.
