How/where do you go to get your ears pierced? I'm concerned about safety and health issues. I suppose I could go to the tatoo shop but that is not my style. There must be another way that GG's get this done. Also is there a lot of pain/recovery involved?
Thanks!

I like Rachael got mine done at Claires. They are in malls all across the country.

I got mine pierced years ago in NYC, in a kind of jewelry store that also did cheap peircings. I forget the name of the place but there were lots of these jewelry stores that did piercings. So I guess a jewelry type store might do piercings.

Honey I just got mine done a few weeks ago. It was nothing.;) I went to Claire's in the mall and I was done fast. Just picked out the studs and the lady used a spring-loaded hand punch that I hardly felt. Took all of five minutes and I was done!
Tis easy.
Just do as they say leave the studs in and clean them and turn the studs twice a day for 6-8 weeks and then you can switch to other ear rings. You have to wear some sort of ear rings in them for up to six months so they don't try to close up. Always clean the shafts so you avoid infection.

I have had both ears pierced for years now 22? something like that any way. Last year I decided I wanted another in each ear. So one night before we went to see the Rocky Horror show, I put a dot on each ear where I wanted them and pushed a piercing stud through. It hurt a lil, but nothing bad. I didnt have any probs with infections etc. I looked after them as you do, and well, I got lotsa spots to hang things from me now! :)

Thanks everyone, that takes the mystery out of it. Now If I can act together, this will happen... Gulp!

I'm a Claire's girl, too. They've been done for for 4 1/2 months now. It is amazing how many different earrings you can buy in such a short time... they're just too cute to pass up!

My first one was done at Claire's also. The other 4 were all done by myself just like Mel did.

Gosh, it sounds like Claire's is the ear piercing palace of choice. I had mine done there some time ago and since then I have become addicted to buying ear rings. Seems no matter what store I'm in, I head right to the ear ring display. Its unfair that Claire's has so many to choose from. I spend entirely too much time in there.

I have a paper punch! - We can do it for "cheap" here! ----Seriously though, -tattoes hurt a lot more than any piercing. I should know! - I am half-covered with them! ----While I had them done, the buzzing was more of an annoyance than any pain. ---Any good tatoo shop does piercings, and yes, they do give a "local" before its done. And its sterile too. ---They are required to be state licenced nowadays. ----Just thought I would add this.

I feel like I'm in the "retail closet". I never heard of Claires, then again there ain't any malls in Baltimore City, maybe if I went into the county I'd find one.
