keeping a point on eyeliner pencils?

Hey girls, do you have any tips for sharpening eyeliner pencils? I've been using those little hand-held plastic pencil sharpeners. The pencil's "lead"(?) is so soft, it's hard for me to resharpen one without the point crumbling away. I just know there's a trick for this; my wife Jackie said she solved the problem when she was much younger by using liquid liner. Thanks for your help ladies! Olivia.

I just carefully shave off a bit of the wood then squash the end back down and shape it.

Same thing works for pencil lip liner, but it does get your fingers mucky! ;)

true true true.. but a thought just came to me... freeze em first ? then shave em ?? ( though -avoiding- "whats this in the freezer" questions ?) ..."K"
