Just got back from the shopping centre. I spent a considerable period of time looking through the range of skin care items on the shelves there.

Until recently, I have been using AVON 'Bio6' day/night faces creams, and AVON's 'Planet Spa' range of hand creams etc, as i have very dry and fair skin (which has suffered badly from lack of care over two decades!).

Since i don't have easy access to AVON anymore, i have decided that I will try out the Nivea range of skin care products. In particular, I will go for the 'Q10' face creams, cleansers, etc... I'm not sure whether Nivea have makeup, eye shadow, lippy, or anything like that yet, but willing to give their face/hand/skin products a try.

What brands and specific products do you prefer? Why do you select that brand's products over anothers? Also, if you could mention your skin type?

Luv to hear your comments on Nivea if you've used it before!

I have never used Nivea products. I use Aveeno products for skin care. I have pale skin, no wait,,,, I have very pale skin and Aveeno seems to help from sun and wind damage, it evens out the skin, well for me anyway.

Pssst... I also use Aveeno anti-aging cream.

I'm afraid I've damaged my skin past the point of hoping any cream would help. Having worshiped the sun all my life... and being an outdoorsy kind of guy... it now is really showing.

However... a CD friends wife sells Mary Kay Cosmetics and they have really performed well ! ! ! I have very fair skin and live in the very cold and dry, high desert of Central New Mexico (USA). I'm very happy with their skin products and the cosmetics are fabulous. Love their lipstick... creamy, easy to apply and great colors. Economical, too. A little goes a long way so you don't have to slather it on to get good effects.

A lot of Mary Kay reps are CD friendly. Do an Internet search in your area and call some of them. They will tell you if they are cool with selling to you... or not! Some will also help with a makeover, too, if you want.

I have found that the over-the-counter skin care products are lesser quality and cost more, in the long run. Find a new Avon rep or some other better quality lines like Clinique, Mary Kay, etc.

Good luck!!! :)
