I have found good and bad with both. Just doing my best to survive in the technology world. Thanks for sharing.

One of the issues with how bad Windows is portrayed is because of the low priced garbage that Dell and HP are selling.
As a Tech, I see them selling underpowered and under resourced PC's which make it look bad for the industry.
I will be the first to say windows has an enormous amount of issues. And vista needs to just go away. Another brain damaged product from Microsoft.
On the other hand, Apple has kept the Mac very proprietary which gives them great control over the O/S and the Apps.
Also, there is a very large difference in the amount of sales between the two products.
When you sell 1000 PC's against 10 Macs, obviously the error ratio goes up for PC's.
So there you have it.

Not as many viruses for a MAC. A lot for a PC.
I've owned both. Mac's are just awesome. Zoe'

I have to admit.... I've never really used a Mac in any thing other than browsing..... I've not really used any Apple product to be precise. Always been a pc person myself and that is where my expertise really lies.
I do plan to gain knowledge though in the very near future as part of my wanting to know, in practice, a bit more in the field of computing.
The 'guts' or electronics inside may be basically the same but the operating systems are a completely different matter. I could probably handle a pc or a network running windows with my eyes closed but a mac, I'd have to stare at till something jumps out at me. ... Guess I will need practice with that.

I guess I am just not computer savvy.I have had vista since it came out and no problems. You techs do more and see more so why has there not been updates to fix vista?

Many have said that Vista is a bit of a dead duck already..... Seems to be a lot of issues with it. Some though don't seem to have any sort of problem with it. Guess it depends on what else you run and of course the system specifications. There are a lot of pc's on the market that are pre built and really aren't designed for Vista. These can only add to the problems that can occur.
I'm not really a fan of it so just stick with the tried and trusted XP for the time being. Vista itself is in the process of being replaced as Microsoft have just about admitted to the problems and are developing a new product. .... Can't be precise on these details or give figures, so don't quote me on this.

Have both MAC's and PC's.. You can have the PC. I'll even gift wrap it.
I never have gotten a virus, Never, not once..
I have never had to "defrag".
I don't get a ton of "error" signs..
I do things in one step, opposed to the 20 you must go through on a PC.
hee hee..
The only problem I encounter?
The rest of the world needs to keep up with Apple.

That makes my "Acorn Electron" look old:eek: )-} sadly it doesnt work too well though, old age has gotten the better of it and the RF output to the telly doesn't hold channel.

OMG - I think that was one of the first PC'sI ever used. We had a programing club when I was in high school and if I recall correctly that is the PC we had. Guess what they later replaced it with? An Apple II! lol

My first was an Apple II+ which made it through 5 years of college and was stolen weeks before I graduated. It was a boat anchor by then anyway.
My Father in law gave me an Apple II with integer basic card installed. Would do everything plus mini assembler. Now I have a IIc in my dining room taking up space. For all the Apples I've owned I use PC's now.

If you want to engineer and take Risks - use a PC - LOL

Anybody else remember Clive Sinclair's Spectrum ZX that introduced us all to playing Space Invaders at home back in the 80's on a small compact machine. Used large floppy discs and was so slow by today's standards , but still ground breaking.
That and others like it were rapidly killed off when HP started marketing Home PC's with Microsoft's then revolutionary user friendly Windows system that needed no computer knowledge at all to play with.

I had 2 Spectrums. 48k. Both used a cassette tape to load programmes. They had the famous rubber keyboard that was a pain to use. I also had an Amstrad 464, a Commodore 64 and Amiga with an extra 1meg of ram added. Used many early pc's using ms-dos versions 3 thru to 6.2. Still have copies of Windows 1 on 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 disks. I mentioned the Oric the other day. Used to like using the BBC micro too as well as the Acorn Electron. In fact I've probably used most machines since about 1981.

I had a Sinclair ZX81. I even connected it to a proper keyboard. To see if it would make it work any quicker. It didn't. Because every time you pressed a key. It rewrote the entire line.
I've never had a virus on my Mac. Then again, maybe my mac is to old to run any viruses. Zoe'
