This might be a stupid question, but I can not seem to put a smilie in my posts. When I try, all it puts is numbers.

What am I doing wrong?

Numbers? Hmmm =@ you should see characters that generate into smilies after you submit a post(depending on what setting you selected for message editing.

Generally you just need to click on the smilie to add it. Either from the selection on the right in your reply box or in the more smilies window. If that still isn't working, I'd need to see what you are seeing in order to help.

This is quite straightforward. When posting a reply look at the icons on top line ,white smilie and to the right . If you click on the white smilie you will get a full list of available smilies,click at the bottom of the list for more smilies.

This is in 2 vertical columns with script and a picture of the smilie . Find the one you like and click on it it will them appear in your post where your cursor line is flashing.

So if for example you want a rose after your signature as I use regularly , leave the cursor flashing after your signature, mouse click on to the white smilie , click on the rose picture repeat as many times as you want it to appear.

Since only a couple have trouble, there isn't anything wrong with the site. :)

It's most likely a setting somewhere in their browsers or control panel.

Try now, I've set Pippa and Gem's User Control Panels to use the What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor.

I had the same problem. I saw symbols when I added a smilie=@ , but I deleted them before I posted, so I didn't look like an idiot. I'll try again.=@ :confused:
