I would like to hear your stories about meeting other cd's, dressed or drab, no matter. Lyn and I have met with a couple of others and I would like to hear some from you!

Well I've said this before somewhere else but I'll repeat it here if you like.

A few good friends came down here to Florida last month and visited Labor Day weekend. The weather was terrible after a whole week of sun. Suddenly it had turned to rain and ichie gray skies. Anyhow Chrissie, Pattie, Holly, and HTGurl arrived Saturday morning and the fear and nervousness I'd felt about meeting them all week was over in a few seconds. We had coffee at my place and talked and laughed like old friends. It was great. I grabbed my stuff and we headed out to get our beverages for the night, then to the motel where we had a blast all night. I felt quite comfortable with them, well after all I've been talking to them for months anyway and I suppose there was nothing to hide or hold back since we all are out to each other. We dressed up took some piccies, ordered a pizza, drank into the night, and played the radio too loud etc etc..

Next day was back to drab and the weather didn't improve much but we drove down to the beach and the port sight seeing. Then out to the Everglades to look for alligators. No such luck after the first hurricane we had here, the water had rose pretty high and with the airboat tours and motorcycles there was no sign of gators.

Anyhow it wasn't about going out en fem like so many seem to want as this rush, it was about being with friends who we could just be ourselves with no matter what we wore.

That was the best thing that happened all year:cool:

Running joke: DO NOT try to put on make up after you've drank half a fifth of Southern Comfort}y$ <%)

I am probably in the minority, but I have no real desire to meet other cd's. Dressing up with someone and hanging out has no appeal to me at all.

... and i'm one of the privalidged one's!

My first ever meeting with another XDR was Ms Ryan (and her SO). It was an exciting time, well worth it to actually be able to discuss our need to crossdress with someone else who does it also.

It was only for a short time, but i'm now "keen as mustard" (an aussie saying) to meet other like minded people to share experiences with. Don't be shy, you'll be amazed at how your self perception changes for the better!

Christine.

I went with a pre-op TS to a TG meeting down in Seattle back in August. She is 24/7 of course. I left my house in drab and met her to car pool down to Seattle. I got dressed in the bathroom just before the meeting started. I was so scared walking out of there. The first 10 minutes of standing around en femme in front of people i didn't know was a little nerve racking though. There was about 10-15 girls so i was ok after awhile.

I met SamanthaJay (over on the other forum for those who don't know her) last year in Virginia. The timing was bad - there was a huge drama going on between her and her gg Leslie, and her gg's ex, etc... not that it ruined anything though, we still had a blast.
The highlight was when we went to a gay coffee house called Soho's. We were dressed to go clubbing, but were way too late (too much time getting ready:D). So there we were walking to the coffee house and I'm dressed in a vinyl miniskirt, fishnets, tight black top, and 3" mary-janes. As soon as I walked in every set of eyes focused straight on me! I couldn't not attract attention since I was 6'8" in the heels!$~. I could barely keep from laughing my ass off.
The best part of the whole night was when Leslie went to the counter to order a tossed salad)-} She had no idea what was so funny until we explained it to her!

I meet up with lots of girls quite regularly sometimes at events or monthly meetings where we regulars try to help out all the first time girls who come along with lots of advice and any questions they may have and generally put them at their ease, these get togethers actually help prepare girls to take the next step in going out for the first time, definitely a confidence builder, its a case of coming along to look, learn and yes even steal a few ideas if need be for themselves,at other times i have my friends drop by for a gossip sometimes dressed or in drab, i had my best friend stay over at the weekend past and we went shopping together with my wife in Edinburgh where i bought the top and necklace in the pic threads

Well Melissa,

Melbourne town is abound with many opportunities to meet and be out with others like ourselves.

I am working my way through T friendly venues and having something of a ball doing so.

Seahorse is a great place to start and usually leads to a night out at friendly place afterwards. Our new Seahorse President is encouraging the girls to make known plans to kick on after our meeting so all the girls can have the opportunity to go along. It is a real shame to go straight home. It is a case of all dressed up and lots of places to go.

Stay in touch,

Love,

Jan

(This will only make sense to Melissa) PS I am only a short distancefrom Benalla, please let me know if you are going again.

Absolutely!

Lyn is most welcome anywhere we go. She would be an asset to any situation. There is always a few wives at Seahorse and they are valued and welcome.

All the other venues are the same.

Love,

Jan

My first meeting with another CD was more than I expected. We had been exchanging letters and I was asked if I'd like to join a support group. The purpose of the meeting was to insure I was the kind of person they wanted in their group. We swapped phone numbers and a meeting was arranged. My wife and I took a motel room where I dressed and got ready to meet. I don't think I've ever been so nervous as when someone knocked at the door. My wife answered the door while I waited in the bathroom just in case it wasn't who we were expecting.

We met Johanna. With her she brought a photo album of members of their group, we sat and she told us all about their activities. I was at ease in minutes when all of a sudden she says, "So are you ready to go"? "Go where"? I asked. "Out", she says, "You look fine". So off we went in her car and was soon downtown. First stop was a restaurant where I was noticed but no one said anything. The evening got better from there, we went to a club for a few drinks and later for coffee at another restaurant. We had a great time and I hated for the evening to end. So my first meeting was also my first real outing, I don't think it could have been better.
